PDA-300 Remote Interface Capabilities
The API library available for the PDA-300 allows the instrument to be effectively integrated in automated test environments. Rapid checks to verify that the Powered Device being tested exhibits the correct Detection Signature, Classification Signature, Powers On correctly, and consumes the expected Power can be easily performed. More involved testing can be performed, for example assessing behavior across a range of input voltages, or insuring that the PD will function in any of the four quadrants (Alt A, Alt B, MDI, or MDI-X). Testing may be performed with the PD being accessed over the powered LAN connection via the PDA-300 “THRU” port. Features available through the API libarary include:
- Measure Detection and Class Signatures
- Define Classification Events, Polarity
- Monitor Load Current (and Power) for extended time periods
